Dr. Anne Marie Marcellino, CCEP - Spa Administrator

For almost a decade, Dr. Anne Marie has ran a successful health and wellness based practice, Alive & Well Chiropractic. She has experienced that when people feel good about themselves, they tend to live healthier lifestyles from the inside out. - Plain & Simple! "I wanted each treatment that we offer to be results orientated but wellness based. When my sister and I were designing the spa and its treatment menu, we asked ourselves, 'What would be our ultimate spa experience? Collectively, we came up with a few ideas that will help you relax while improving the quality of life. We hope you'll enjoy your experience as much as we love providing it to you!"

Christina Oliva - Spa Director/ Spa Therapist

For several years, Christina managed and directed both Med Spas as well as Day Spas in the North Shore area.  Combining both spa concepts, she developed Vitality Wellness Spa using the most cutting edge technology in a "down to earth feel good" environment. "I love building relationships with every person that walks into Vitality and recognizing their transformation.  It's kinda funny to see people come in all stressed out or insecure about their skin problems and then leave enlightened with a new attitude and enjoying life!  I believe the ultimate reward is knowing that we've passed on that positive vibe!"

Tonia Karmis - Aesthetician

Tuesday - Thursday 11-4

Professional Training: Catherine Hinds 2007
Favorite Treatment: Supersonic Facials
What Makes it Effective?: It does it all!  It deep cleans by flushing out backheads and whiteheads in its path.  It exfoliates dead skin, and hydrates the skin 5,000 times deeper than a regular facial.
What is the Greatest Misconception Clients have about facials?:  That one time is enough and that they can keep using their “drugstore” products that clogged their skin in the first place.    I've notice a lot of people are afraid of using a toner because they think it will dry out their skin.  Using the WRONG toners that contain alcohol, will yes, dry out your skin.  In my opinion, toning is actually the most important step in a regimen that you can do because it gives your skin a second cleansing and allows your moisturizer to penetrate a lot deeper - resulting in better hydration.
How do you instill loyalty in your clients?: I tell it like it is!  I try to educate my clients on the importance of professional services along with quality at home skincare products so they don’t “undo” what we just did in the treatment room.  Unfortunately, there are no short cuts to great looking skin.

Jamie Succo - Aesthetician/ Nail Technician
Tuesday 11-4
Wednesday - Friday 11-8
Every other Saturday 10-5

Professional Training:  Catherine Hinds 2005/ Lowell Academy of Nails 2003
Favorite Treatment: Custom Facial with Eye-O-tonology add-on.
What Makes it Effective?:
The enzyme peel that we use contains salicylic acid, which gently removes dull, dead skin and helps to avoid the post-facial breakouts that concern many clients.  The muscle memory and contouring during the eye treatment really tightens and reduces puffiness.  When I’m finished with their treatment, my clients look vibrant, awake, and refreshed!
What is the Greatest Misconception Clients have about their Skin?  A lot of my clients confuse sensitivity with dehydration and once the hydration levels of the skin are restored, many of the sensitivity issues disappear.
How do you instill loyalty in your Clients?:  I make sure my clients feel comfortable and I don’t make them feel bad if they are doing something wrong.  That’s why I’m here, to guide them in the right direction and leave their skin glowing!

Cheryl Hurley - Nail Technician
Wednesday & Friday 5-8
Saturday 10-5

Professional Training:  Wakefield Vocational School 1997
Favorite Treatment: Shea Butter or Parastone Pedicures
What Makes it Effective?: The Shea Butter in the paraffin really moisturizes and helps repair dry cracked skin.  It makes the feel of the pedicures last longer and going that extra mile is truly worth it!
What is the Greatest Misconception Clients have about nails?:  That one pedicure will make callused feet as good as new.  Although I try my best to slough off as much dead skin as possible, it usually takes a few times and the client needs to exfoliate with a callus eliminator at home too.
How do you instill loyalty in your Clients?:   I give the same quality of service as well as treat them with respect and sincerity exactly how I would like to receive at a spa.

Jennifer Pratt - Massage Therapist/Aesthetician
Tuesday - Friday 3-8
Every other Saturday 10-2

Professional Training:  Graduate of The Massachusetts Institute of Therapeutic Massage 2002.  The Catherine Hinds School of Esthetics 2007.
Favorite Treatment & Description:
A massage /facial combo.  This treatment allows me to utilize both my skills as a nurturing massage therapist while implementing my new love of skincare.  Although, 60 minutes is just enough to do a little of both, my clients seem to realize they benefit more from a 90 or 120 minute combo instead.  They usually fall asleep towards the end.
What Makes it Effective?:
As I begin with the massage, my clients instantly start to relax and can drift away for the remainder of the treatment.  It's also great for those who can’t decide what to get, or who have never received any spa treatments before, they get the best of both worlds!  They don’t even have to get up, just roll over.

What is the Greatest Misconception Clients have about Skincare/Massage?
I think a big misconception is thinking that what people eat and the lifestyles they lead do not have anything to do with the health of their skin or muscle tone in their bodies.  If, however, they drink enough water and eat well, they will radiate good health!
How do you instill loyalty in your Clients?:  I treat them with complete honesty and really care about there well-being, as if they were my own family.

Jessica McEwen - Massage Therapist
Wednesday 11-4
Friday 11-8

Professional Training:  Graduate of  SpaTech Institute Ipswich, MA 2004
Favorite Treatment & Description:
Balanced Zenergy Steam Treatment This treatment allows me conjure up a mixed bag of all my therapeutic tricks.  I can perform a little of trigger point/myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, hot stone placement, stretching and breathwork.  My clients seem to gain balance, clear their mind, and become free from tension.
What Makes it Effective?:  Massage already stimulates toxin removal, but the steam allows the “flushing” process to begin.  Most of my clients can significantly notice improvement in their overall health when they do these treatments on a regular basis.
What is the Greatest Misconception Clients have about Massage? That massage is a luxery.  Almost all of my clients NEED massage to function!  It's all about maintaining your bodys natural flow of energy.  When they haven't seen me in a while, it's amazing how tight they become, and it's almost like starting all over again.
How do you instill loyalty in your Clients?:
Pain & torture! - No, just kidding.  I just try to release every spasm and knot I find, which leaves them feeling relieved with more range of motion.

Erin Calnan - Massage Therapist
Tuesday & Thursday 11-4

Professional Training: Salter School, 2007
Favorite Treatment & Description: Deep Tissue Massage
What Makes it Effective?: The Trigger Point Therapy that I do in this massage allows myself and my client to notice improvement immediately!
What is the Greatest Misconception Clients have about massage?:  That it’s only for pampering.  I see a lot of people that really need a massage to relieve them from chronic muscle pain as well as promote stress relief.
How do you instill loyalty in your Clients?: By providing a customized treatment based on their specific needs.

Instructors

Marisa Petralia

Marisa uses verbal and tactile cues to ensure the use of proper form. When the body is in correct alignment, working from a stable source (the powerhouse) will allow the core to strengthen as muscles lengthen.  "Our goal is to combine stability and flow, with a focus on transitions; gracefully removing from one move to the next without stopping."

Stephanie Swinford

Attorney by day, yoga instructor by night, Stephanie knows all about how important it is to bring back your inner chi.  Her teaching style is in Vini Yoga, a form of Hatha yoga.  It is restorative and therapeutic, and is based essentially on the individual's breath; that is, the length or intensity of movement is determined by the individual's capacity to inhale deeply and exhale fully.
